Dear Diva Rebecca,

My fiance asked me some advice on his daughters bad behavior. I told him that 2 years ago I told him if he didnt put a stop to his mothers spoiling her he would have problems and now hes having problems. He got really defensive and broke it off with me. I didnt mean no harm I love her and him and I want him back. Can this be fixed? Help me my heart is breaking.

This is a pride issue. He wanted your opinion as long as it did not incriminate or judge him. This person probably sucks at receiving constructive criticism.

You guys have been together for a long time and the fact that he came to you with the problem in the first plave suggests that this will be an easy problem to fix. As with any hurt ego situation, you need to find a way to re-inflate his ego. First of all, send him flowers. Guys never get flowers and when they do they feel elated, they feel special. You should send them to his office so everyone will see them. If you do that, he will be so surprised. Accompany the flowers with a little letter and let him know how sorry you are and how wonderful you think he is. Also let him know what a great father you think he is. Do not include how much you want him back. Only offer your apologies and your support. He needs to hear it from you. Everyone wants to hear what a good job they are doing, they don't want to hear about their faults.

He will contact you shortly and you keep giving him that positive attention, staying away from the negative attention.
